The story of a passionate man

Maison Fabre, glove makers from father to son since 1924, guarantees a long-standing expertise in gloves for both men and women. The story begins in Millau with Etienne Fabre, master glovemaker, who decides to establish his own company. The small firm is already family-oriented as he and his brother shape and cut the leathers before working on them. From a young age, Etienne Fabre embarked on an equestrian adventure, becoming a horse-mounted gendarme at the age of 25. At that time, horses, horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, boats, and trains were the only means of transport and everyone had their pair of gloves. Etienne Fabre had the idea to perfect his skills in leather and other skins to meet demand. He saw it as an opportunity to dress men and women with elegance and refinement. Since 1970, generations of glovemakers have followed, always within the family. Today, after the creation of a 150 m² boutique in the heart of Millau and partnerships with numerous brands, notably automotive, and with its appearance on the celebrity scene that democratizes the brand (Jennifer Lopez highlighted Maison Fabre in her Dinero music video). Today, haute couture houses like Chanel, Hermès, Dior, and Vuitton swear by this famous glovemaking house.

Maison Fabre, a living heritage

The glove has become more than just a simple pair that keeps you warm, it is the ultimate refined accessory. Maison Fabre, with its "hand-stitched" argument, is the benchmark for high-end leather goods.

Maison Fabre, gloves made from noble materials

Craftsmanship is more than present in Maison Fabre. The founder and active participant Etienne Fabre himself works on the gloves, from cutting to sewing, and drawing. In his early days, Etienne Fabre mainly focused on making and selling white kid gloves. Gradually, cutters (leather cutters) and seamstresses are put in place. He then becomes the reference for handmade gloves, from his workshop in Aveyron. Today, the materials are enriched: velvet, kid leather gloves and lamb leather, suede, peccary, turned sheepskin, the skins are worked, imagined: from the creation of the model to its manufacture.

A recognized House, a lineage that takes over the reins.

It was in 1946 that his son, Denis Fabre, joined the company's management with his wife, Rose Fabre. Together, they emancipate the brand beyond borders to make Maison Fabre known worldwide. The support of Rose Fabre is greatly thanked as her dynamism and entrepreneurial side propels the brand as reference glovemakers in the sector. She even created several models for Haute Couture Houses which has the advantage of making Maison Fabre known from a different angle, on a different scale. Gloves are no longer just a clothing accessory but indeed an element of refinement. Gloves then become fashion accessories. The vision of wearing gloves has changed: In 25 years of existence, the company has become increasingly important and now has more than 350 employees.
